Risks
The United Kingdom cover of Prized has flowers, a salmon-pink color scheme, and the word “love” in the copy that’s part of the design of the woman’s face. In short, S&S UK is highlighting the romantic threads of the story, which I find to be a rather gutsy move. Readers attracted to the promise of a romance novel may well feel misled, but I hope they won’t ultimately be disappointed by the story. I’m glad my publisher has taken a chance on an innovative, risky approach with the covers.
For the Prized blog tour today, Allison on The Allure of Books asks me about the risks I took with the second book in the series. Writing anything is a risk, of course, but I do feel like the stakes are higher now than they were the first time around with Birthmarked.
The book was ordered weeks ago and I am waiting as patiently as I can. I love sequels and I’m sure Prized will be a great book. I’ll see you Tues. at the Co-op.

All best,

I’ll know everything by Tuesday. I swear.

Noo! I’m not revealing anything that’s not on the cover. I have not spoiled anything that matters. I promise.
All best,
Caragh
It’s okay, I really can’t read that cover anyways. I’m so excited to finish. They gave us Monday off, so I will use that time to finish the book!(: Or tonight. Because I read instead of sleeping. When are you going to get out that third book again? 🙂 Haha.
Carpe Diem,
Katie
