The Keep of Ages Launch

One month from today, on Sunday, August 27th at 5:00 pm, I’ll be at the UConn Barnes & Noble Bookstore at Storrs Center, in Storrs, CT for the launch of The Keep of Ages. I can hardly believe this moment is so close! I am thrilled about this book and excited to introduce it to readers soon. In terms of how far Rosie goes as a character and how mind-bending the philosophical concepts are, The Keep of Ages is the strongest book of the Vault of Dreamers trilogy. I feel like this is the ideal culmination of a huge project about creativity and what it means to be alive.

The event at B&N is free and open to the public. Please come and feel free to spread the word. My friend Sharon Ristau (email: sharon.ristau@uconn.edu) at the store will be happy to answer any questions, take pre-orders, or, if you can’t come, arrange for a signed, personalized copy to be shipped to you. The book officially goes on sale the following Tuesday, August 29th, when it will be widely available online, in stores, and on request at public libraries.

I am deeply thankful to my friends, family, and readers for supporting me during my long days of writing this wild series. Your unflagging encouragement has meant the world to me, and this novel is a victory for all of us. Thank you!

THE KEEP OF AGES by Caragh M. O’Brien

The Final Installment in the Electrifying Vault of Dreamers Trilogy

“Psychologically and philosophically rich.”

  • Kirkus, The Keep of Ages

“O’Brien…mixes the appeal of a classic boarding school novel with modern concerns about surveillance and reality as performance art, while questioning how human perception creates that reality in the first place. “

  • Publishers Weekly, The Vault of Dreamers

(July 2017) This summer, award-winning YA author Caragh M. O’Brien delivers The Keep of Ages, the highly anticipated final chapter of her mind-bending Vault of Dreamers trilogy.

After discovering the dark secrets of the prestigious Forge School and having her consciousness split in two, Rosie Sinclair must face her most daunting task yet: saving her family from the sinister Dean Berg. Her journey leads her to defunct horror theme park Grisly Valley, where everything is not what it seems. Determined to rescue her parents and stop Berg once and for all, Rosie will uncover the final secret of the dreamers – if she can survive that long.

O’Brien brings together a daring, no-nonsense heroine and a wildly imaginative, unnerving plot to create a high-octane adventure unlike anything readers have seen before. Hailed by Kirkus as “psychologically and philosophically rich,” the timely themes of surveillance, manipulation, and an imbalance of wealth will resonate with citizens in our uncertain global climate, while the unsettling mind games and deep existential questions provide intriguing food for thought. Action-packed and utterly unique, The Keep of Ages is a perfect summer read for fans of mysteries, science fiction, and psychological thrillers.

About the Author: Caragh M. O’Brien is the author of the BIRTHMARKED trilogy and THE VAULT OF DREAMERS series, both from Macmillan/Roaring Brook Press.
