We choose<br \/>\nhow to spend our time,<br \/>\nwhat gift of it we have.<br \/>\nIn my tally sheet for the day,<br \/>\nI can score my writing hours,<br \/>\na walk I took up the hill,<br \/>\na call I had with my laughing sister,<br \/>\na quick Facetime<br \/>\nwith my daughter and her children.<br \/>\nNo cleaning.<\/p>\n<p>The webs can\u2019t compete<br \/>\nuntil I return to my place<br \/>\non the couch,<br \/>\nand the sun has shifted<br \/>\naround the globe<br \/>\nto another angle,<br \/>\nand there they are,<br \/>\nlike frost but teasing,<br \/>\ndelicate and out of focus<br \/>\nthrough my computer glasses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overnight, seemingly, the spiders colonize our windows and refuse to be ignored.
