\"\"<\/a>Connecticut readers are excited for the CT Children’s Book Fair<\/a> this weekend, November 4-5 in the Rome Ballroom on the UConn Storrs campus. With authors and illustrators of books from picture books to young adult novels, the fair gives readers and their parents a chance to meet the people behind their favorite reads. Marc Brown<\/a>, creator of the beloved Arthur and his kid sister D.W. will be speaking on Saturday, as will Rosemary Wells<\/a> of Max and Ruby fame. I’m part of Saturday’s line-up, too, with a short speaking gig at 10:45.<\/p>\n

I’m looking forward to meeting up with my friend Cammie McGovern<\/a> who will be at the Fair on Saturday, and I regret that I’ll miss another friend, Tommy Greenwald<\/a> who will no doubt crack up everyone at the fair on Sunday. The CT Children’s Book Fair is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>By Sunday I’ll be in Illinois for Anderson’s YA Fandom Frenzy<\/a>, an event November 5th for readers ages 22 and under. Catch that? The age cap means we’ll have the curious, contagious energy that happens when the grown ups are away. The event is free, but attendees need to register<\/a> beforehand. With over 40 YA authors featured, it’s sure to be a fun and silly day. Lest you’re feeling left out, interested adults are welcome to attend Anderson’s YA Lit Conference<\/a> the day before when most of the same authors will also be speaking.<\/p>\n
