A Toast!<\/p><\/div>\n

Macmillan Children\u2019s Publishing Group had a Fierce Reads toast yesterday on the 10th floor of the Flatiron Building, and it was amazing. The room was filled with people who work on our books, from all departments, from the president, Jon Yaged, to the newest intern, and it was such a pleasure to be with them all in person. Books are an incredible team effort, not just in the editing, copyediting and proofing, but with art design, production, marketing, sales, publicity, accounting, and distribution. I felt, for the first time, like we were all together to mark the moment and celebrate what we\u2019ve done, and I had a lovely time.<\/p>\n

Later, we had our next Fierce Reads panel at Books of Wonder. Moderator and fellow author Emmy Laybourne (The Monument 14 Series) did a fabulous job with a quiz game to giveaway prizes, and she asked her signature thoughtful questions. Tonight, the tour will take us to R. J. Julia Booksellers in Madison, CT with our panel at 6:00 pm. Stop in if you\u2019re near by!<\/p>\n
